A&M

I thought that the people were really friendly at this medical school.

It was the most welcome that I have felt at a med school. I got there and the dean of admissions shook my hand and he was actually the one who ran the entire presentation of the school. He was super nice. The rest of the admissions staff were also the most warm-hearted I have ever met.

The Med, the College Station Medical Center, is pretty large considering it is a fairly small town. They admit over 150 patients a day in the E.R.

The simulation center is state of the art, and it's where medical students can practice on manequinns that can do absolutely ANYTHING (give birth, cry, yell out in pain, vomit, etc. etc.) This came at the end of the tour, but I think it was worth it considering the entire interview day left me exhausted. 5 hours back to Dallas was fun though- I went down the P's in my iPod while I was on I-45. For example,

Phish- played their live stuff while I was stopped on the road for 15 minutes...fun stuff to play when you're bored.

The Police- played when the night got dark and while I was slowly following like 4,908 18 wheelers because the left lane was closed. Luckily, I didn't get pulled over by them...

Pink Floyd- played Animals when the left lane got open, the right lane was closed, but because someone had gone crazy and either drove off a bridge or at least hit the siderails (I didn't get to look)

Praxis- played their really crazy live stuff when traffic started picking up and I was going 80 mph again.

It was a fun trip.
